wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow.
Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow.
Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow.
Wow.
I'm the president of children's community, charity and retrograde, charitable to a video game museum here.
So and I run this motley crew of folks into all kinds of just craziness and good times.
You're a retrograde.
I am the basically all of the arcade ma I run maintenance on everything.
I source machines, go pick them up, install them.
I will crawl through Facebook, Marketplace, Craigslist forums, Reddit for just about anything arcade games, board games, video game weird things, kitsch things.
You know, just just stuff that I can s bring to other people's attention.
I try to share.
The structure of our o Is Brian is president Th e responsibilities of the VP are basically we are in charge of the day to day is that up.
A more o figuring out best locations for stuff.
Back when we were at the Victorian house, we had a lot of issues with p not realizing that we were in arcade.
We had a lot of people coming in being li it it looked like a frat house and we didn't know if just a bunch of guys who like video games and yeah, and we'r you know, having to let people not know we're a full functioning arcade But if.
We wanted to that was safe for everyone to wear, a place that everybody could kind of come in and fo and just kind of rub elbows in that with a much larger plan behind.
That.
This isn't what th is is a it's a501 C3 charity.
And so it's our way of giving But we're all contractors, el We all work on the maintenance of the building and of the arcades.
We're slowly teachi Like when pinball machine breaks, none of us knew anything abou The day we realized that we can pull was groundbreaking because we felt we had to work through this itty We were like, How are we going to do this?
Well, we've we've always been collectors.
We've, you know, we held on to our chil We held on to our toys.
We were sitting around o at how many cool things we actually had just happened to be talking about.
What And I was running out of space in m and Brian was running space out of his house, and even it just kind of came to a conclusion of what could you do if you could do anything?
And it was like, I always wanted to own an arcade That was my thing.
I was I grew up in arcades.
I thought they were, you know, a blast.
Everything kind of just how can we share all of this stuff.
We had a couple arcades at that We can chase and stuff down and we just decided to go fo start piling things in there making a show out of it, you know, making it some Come check out your old childho We teach about the progression of technology to kid We teach about gaming.
We have different programs in that that we also use in order to kind of help and that through gaming and that and so we've we've alway and continue to build and build and build on them.
So when the start of creating this, we were looking at it like And so we brought the kettle here, right?
And the next thing you know, everybody starts seeing all this stuff that's going o and they start and that's the rest of that community.
And so people will bring things in eithe various charitable efforts or bring things in to add to to the museum.
And that toys maybe that we don't all kinds of wonderful stuff.
The idea is just to cont all those people together and so the idea was to continue to focus on that and just build and build and build.
An real in the world, like certifiably the largest collection in the world.
So that's part of that future visi And obviously to be able to house that many millions of to and things of that nature.
We meet a lot of folks ab out their childhood, especially when they find out that our fun job is to come here and play with They like to talk to us about the toys they played with, and oftentimes when they find out that it's all and that we're all just sharing everything t to give as well and give back to and share their toys with everybody.
So we make a lot of connecti with just about everything we do.
Nostalgia for us is a way to connect to their inner child.
Everybody re if you can right it takes them back to when adult problems didn't exist.
And so it essentially creates a neutral ground where everybody's on the same page.
Nobody's worried about their money, their bills, their their, their life, their they're playing, they're having fun.
They're reconnecting with t and generally with each other.
We use that to also help and so they can reconnect with their childhood and identify a little bit more with what their kids are going through or how they're feeli and remember what that was like.
And so that's that's really what the nosta as a key for us to to operating and running this place.
If you're interested in coming in or checking us out and that you can check us out online, we do ha You can find us at Retrograde Museum, dot dot org incom.
You can also get involved through Facebook or various other ways.
It's $10 a head to get in.
Everything is set to free play.
We have some machines that we can turn f But if you know, if you're down here and you want to play those games, u run up to the desk and we'll throw some credits on there for you Th e main thing is though, just i We want to play games with you and just and talk about old stuff.
Wow.
wow.
Wow.
Wow, wow, wow, wow.
